Jim – Exterior Maintenance Supervisor

"When I started work with Botanical in 2004 I had no previous experience in horticulture at all having previously done factory and warehouse work where I felt I was going stale. I have to say in all honesty that joining Botanical was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Since starting my employment I have received full training in all aspects of the job including health and safety. The company has helped me achieve various qualifications from spraying certification to chain saw as well as NVQ level 2 and 3.

Through hard work and a good attitude I have worked my way up to supervisor level and have a ‘hands on’ input into the everyday running of the sites and staff that I am responsible for. What I enjoy most about the job is the freedom of being outdoors and the different daily challenges, as well as the traveling to different towns and cities which I would never previously have done. No two days are ever the same at Botanical."
